Stoned!
Part of: Gossip , Hollywood , Literati , Music , Politics , Stoned!--NYC’s own former "No. 1" escort, Natalia McLennan, spent her birthday with PAGE SIX and "The Insider" last week as a wannabe actress--not as a hooker. Are you sure about that Page Six? Unfortunately, Miss McLennan looks far beyond her 26 years of age, but that didn’t stop a few producers that I know from saying that they’d do a casting session with her. Meanwhile, across town, former "Apprentice" alum Kwame Jackson was trying to return dirty old Tommy Hillfiger clothes without tags to Bloomingdales. Damn, that guy is cheap. [Page Six]
--South African newspaper editor, Ferial Haffajee of the Mail and Guardian has received threats (among others) for printing cartoons of the prophet Mohammed. Said cartoon has continued to anger Muslim groups internationally and has sparked protests, which in some cases have resulted in death. Haffejee may want to run away to the States for some R&R. [BBC / NYT]
--The Smashing Pumpkins might be getting back together again. Billy Corgan must want money. [Female First]
--"Sexual Healing" an independent film about Marvin Gaye starring Jesse L. Martin from "Law and Order" is set to begin production in May. Finally we’ll get to see a hot cop with his shirt off. [my way]
--Mozilla Firefox has an ad contest that aspiring filmmakers should enter. There are prizes.
--I missed this one: Kim Basinger is set to star in Miu Miu’s spring print campaign. I find this totally confusing because the models for Miu Miu have been almost exclusively 14-year-old girls. Basinger is 52. Maybe Miucia Prada has decided it would be intelligent to market her clothes to the age demographic that can afford her clothes.
