I like the way that sweater dresses look, but they're really only practical outdoors unless everywhere you go indoors has air conditioning or you weigh under 100 lbs. In the late fifties and sixties, women wore girdles with their sweater dresses. Our modern day girdle is called Spanx and is used by all of the Hollywood actresses, fat and thin. I wonder if the girdle will ever go out of style--not. A Diesel sweater dress clad Heather Graham sat at the Diesel runway show last week in New York. Eva Mendes (does anyone care about her?) wore a Max Azaria version with a cowl neck. The cowl neck is 'in' right now even though Project Runway judge and Elle magazine fashion director, Nina Garcia, called it old-fashioned and dowdy during one of the challenges this season. Jennifer Lopez’ sweater dress (by Missoni?) is the most wearable and modern out of all the dresses. Which one would you wear?

I prefer Heather's, because she's showing skin with her legs, but the long sleeves make the outfit more modest. Stylish and fun at the same time. Eva's is a bit dowdy and I'm not sure if that's the best color for her - caramel on caramel. As for JLo, the dress looks unshapely, like it simply drapes on her. Although it's nice to see her not flauntin g what she's got.

Do we really care about any of them?

I love Eva's dress with the boots. But that neckline...UGH I feel like I'm being strangled just looking at it. Heather's dress? Forget it, no one can get away with big stripes unless they are a size 2.
